KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knox County Sheriff's Office arrested a man today for attempting to make off with approximately $5,000 worth of merchandise from Belk on Parkside Drive.
The Organized Retail Crime Holiday Task Force (ORCHTF) arrested 36-year-old Oryan Soles as he was leaving Belk with an undisclosed amount of products from the store. An officer in the task force also recognized that Soles' vehicle matched a BOLO for merchandise that was stolen from a local Academy Sports.
Officials found merchandise from Belk and Academy Sports in the vehicle.
According to KCSO, the task force is part of an effort to help keep holiday shoppers safe and stop retailers from experiencing unnecessary losses.
