The Knoxville Police Department is searching for two people who robbed a cellphone store on Clinton Highway.

According to KPD, two people robbed the AT&T store located at 5400 Clinton Highway on August 5 at around 12:22 p.m. The first suspect, a woman, went into the store and was followed several minutes later by a man dressed as a woman.

KPD announced on August 22 that the woman was identified and interviewed.

The man, police said, was wearing women's clothing, including a wig, and had a yellow V-neck shirt over a white shirt, women's sunglasses. Police said he was carrying a women's purse.

Police said after spending several minutes inside the store, the male suspect approached the employee, told the employee he had a weapon and demanded money from the register. The employee complied.

The suspects fled on foot.

Officials are still searching for the man; according to KPD, the woman was identified through tips provided to the department's Facebook page.

KPD reported that no one was injured, but they are still looking for the suspects. Anyone with any information can contact the police department at 865-215-7212 or submit a tip though their Facebook page @KnoxvillePD.
