KPD investigating shooting that left one teenager injured

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knoxville Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one 16-year-old boy injured.

According to a release from the police department, the shooting occurred on West New Street at around 4:55 p.m.

The victim was walking with a friend, also 16, near Unity Mortuary when a vehicle approached them and began shooting. The victim suffered a "very minor graze wound to his foot." The boys ran to a friend's house and called 911.

Police said neither the victim nor the friend are very forthcoming with information.

Investigators are still searching for a suspect. The vehicle involved is believed to be a black Buic SUV with tinted windows.
