Knoxville Police Department officers located four individuals staying inside an empty apartment in Montgomery Village Wednesday morning, resulting in one arrest.

The individuals initially refused to respond to the officers even after attempting to go out a back door and removing a window screen from a second story window. After approximately 30 minutes, the individuals responded by opening the door and came out of the apartment.

All four were detained for questioning.

KPD said 29-year-old Shannon Wells was arrested after officers discovered he had two outstanding violation of probation warrants stemming from a burglary conviction.

38-year-old Charles Dozier was cited for simple possession of a drug, trespassing, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A third male and a female were released.
