KPD issues scam alert for fake EMS calls

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville Police Department issued a warning on Twitter about reports of a new scam call in which the scammers pose as Emergency Medical Services personnel.

According to police, the scammers call their victims and tell them that a loved one is injured, then request money.

If you receive a call like this, KPD says DO NOT give money.
