Two injured in overnight shooting in east Knoxville

Knoxville Police Officers were called to shots fired in the area of 2500 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. around 1 a.m. early Thursday morning.

When officers arrived they found a male and female that had been shot with what police say is non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

The male and female victims were both transported to U.T. Medical Center. The KPD Violent Crimes Unit is currently conducting an investigation.
