King's Academy athletic director and head football coach resigns
The King's Academy President Matt Mercer announced that Les Greer has resigned as athletic director and head football coach effective September 16.
“I appreciate the opportunity I was given to lead TKA’s football program," Greer said in his formal resignation. "I wish my players and the academy the best moving forward."
Mercer said Jonathan Sellers, who has been serving for several years at TKA as a boy’s dorm resident worker as well as the former middle school football coach, has been named the interim TKA Head Football Coach.
“We appreciate Coach Greer’s efforts as an employee of TKA and we pray the very best for his future endeavors," Mercer said.
After posting an impressive 8-4 season in 2017 and a playoff win, the Lions have struggled dramatically this season. TKA is winless on the season after five games, and have been outscored 255-76 in 2018.
