Kittens found dead inside parked car in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT/WTVF) -- Animal control in Nashville responded to a parking lot after a cat and her kittens were left in a vehicle.

According to CBS affiliate WTVF, Metro Animal Care and Control said they found several one-week-old kittens inside a carrier on Monday. The mother was outside the crate and could not get to them.

Officers responded as well and retrieved all the animals, but the kittens appeared to have died before anyone had arrived.

The surviving cat was transported to Metro Animal Control and is doing well. The car's owner has not been located.
