LENOIR CITY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Loudon County Sheriff's Office said they are searching for 31-year-old Elisha Carpenter, and are now calling on area dive team to help.

According to officials, the investigation has been expanded to include search efforts of Carpenter both on land and in water. The Blount County Sheriff's Office dive team is now on the scene supporting LCSO's dive team that has already been searching a waterway near Watts Bar Lake.

The BCSO team was called in to use a specialized camera to aid in the search. Authorities have also brought in cadaver K9 teams to assist in the search.

Investigators said they discovered footprints near the water that were consistent with reports that Carpenter was last seen with no shoes on.

“Early reports from family and witnesses provided several scenarios that have led our search efforts to both surrounding properties and nearby waterways” says Detective Sergeant Charlie Cosner.

“We have reasons to believe that the female may have entered a nearby lake, so we are searching that area by boat and have deployed our dive team to help in the underwater search as well. On land we have deployed deputies to search nearby buildings, warehouses and abandoned structures, in the event that the missing female entered one of those”, continued Cosner.

Chief Deputy Jimmy Davis says the LCSO has already deployed multiple resources to look into details of this case and their teams will continue to investigate those leads.

“While this case presents a multitude of scenarios, we need more information from someone out there. Someone out there may posses the information into this case that will help us find Elisha Carpenter, and we need anyone who does have that information to come forward and contact our Detective’s Division”, says Davis.

Deputies responded to a missing person call at a home on Industrial Drive Friday afternoon.

Carpenter was last seen walking out of her apartment at River Manor Apartments around 2 a.m. Friday.

She was wearing light green pajama pants and a pink hoodie.

Anyone with information about Carpenter's location is encouraged to call the Loudon County E911 Communications Center at (865) 458-9081 or 911 immediately.
