Luke Perry 'acted like we were family,' says Tennessee resident

DICKSON, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The "Beverly Hills 90210" star, Luke Perry, was laid to rest in Middle Tennessee on Monday.

According to TMZ, Perry was buried in Dickson. CBS affiliate WREG reported that Perry had owned a property in the county on Sylvia Road. He bought it in 1994, a month after his film "8 Seconds," premiered.

“He acted like we were part of his family. He would always give you a hug,” said Janet Grimes, adding that he brought his own family to the restaurant often for breakfast. He stopped in at her restaurant many times over the years.

Perry died at age 52 after suffering a stroke. His representative, Arnold Robinson, told USA Today that he was surrounded by his children, fiance and other family members when he passed.

“The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning,” Robinson said in a statement. “No further details will be released at this time.”
