Man indicted in 1973 Monroe County cold case murder

Max Benson Calhoun, 67

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Monroe County man, Max Benson Calhoun, was indicted by the District Attorney's office and charged with first-degree murder in a case from more than 30 years ago.

The DA's office made the announcement on February 12, 2019.

Benson is accused in the death of John Raymond Constant in 1973.

The 67-years-old was booked into the Monroe County Jail with no bond. His trial was set for February 25, 2019.
