MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- What began as a traffic violation Sunday afternoon ended with a Maryville man arrested after Blount County Sheriff’s deputies discovered felony amounts of methamphetamine, heroine, and cash.
While patrolling Old Knoxville Highway and Little River Road in Rockford, a Blount County Sheriff’s deputy pulled over a gold Chevrolet Blazer for a traffic violation. Inside, deputies found heroin, methamphetamine, and $1,700 in cash.
Dylan Porter Tarbett, 27, of Tarbett Road, Maryville, is charged with possession of methamphetamine in a school zone (Rockford Elementary) with intent to deliver, and possession of methamphetamine above .5 grams in a school zone with intent to deliver.
Along with Tarbett was Jessica King, 27, or Milliton Circle in Rockford, who was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
The other three passengers in the vehicle were released with no charge.
Tarbett is being held in the Blount County Correctional Facility on bonds totaling $80,000 pending a court hearing in Blount County General Sessions Court at 9 a.m., Wednesday, September 5.
