The Blount County Sheriff's Office offered a $2,500 reward Thursday for information leading to the whereabouts of 67-year-old Mary Ruth Walker.

Walker's sister, Dorothy Knouff, said Walker was a friendly person and was the type that got along with everyone. She said her sister would not have just walked away without telling someone.

"There's no way she would have walked off, no way," said Walker. "I think there's something really bad. I think something happened beyond her control. She would not go down without a fight."

Walker was reported missing on May 9 by a neighbor and friend.

The Sheriff's Office said no one has heard from or seen Walker since May 4. Officials said her vehicle and belongings are still at her home.

Walker's sister said even if someone hurt her she wants that person to come forward, even if anonymously.

"If you've done something really bad to her, leave some clue somewhere, mail something to the police, leave something anonymous somewhere, let us know," said Walker.

Anyone who has spoken to Walker since May 4 is urged to contact the Investigations Unit during normal business hours at (865) 273-5001 or leave a tip on the 24 Hour Crime Hotline at (865) 273-5200.
