Mayor Jacobs helps kickoff Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs will lead the Salvation Army of East Tennessee as it kicks off its annual Red Kettle Campaign Friday.

The even will take place at West Town Mall at 4:15 p.m.

Throughout the campaign, bell-ringers will man Red Kettles throughout the area at local retail, grocery and shopping mall locations.

Red Kettles located at Walmart stores and Sam’s Club locations alone raised over $45 million in 2017. The local campaign goal for 2018 is $650,000.00 for the seven-week campaign which runs through Christmas Eve.
