McDonald's Hot Apple Pie invented in Knoxville

Knoxville, Tennessee Through the decades McDonalds has tried many things but one thing has just about outlasted everything, it's the Hot Apple Pie.

Tom Cochran was there in his mother's kitchen to see it through, bit after bite.

"And every night literally for 3 or 4 months, we had two to three versions of the apple pie."

After eating about 130 of them, Tom's Dad, Litton decided to market it in East Tennessee and it took off.

Now it's known all over the world. The Cochran family also helped create the Chicken McNuggets and McRibb.

All from mom's kitchen years ago.
