MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Memphis police launched an investigation after a body was discovered at a Southaven home,CBS affiliate WREG reported.

A body was removed around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday from a home on Burton Lane. At that time, police had not identified the remains, but said the case was connected to that of a missing Arkansas man.

“We are excavating what we believe may be a shallow grave,” Deputy Chief Mark Little said.

WREG reported that the missing man had been living with a family renting the home, but they said they had not seen the man in question in two months. Police became involved about a month ago, Little said.

During the course of the investigation, police said they found information that the man could be buried on the property.

WREG reported that an arrest was made in connection to the case. Michael Shane Guidry, who lives at the home, was charged with credit card fraud.
