A man from Middle Tennessee was indicted for illegal possession of firearms.

Paul Dan Smith of Lawrenceburg has been charged with 18 counts of convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The indictment was served on February 25 while Smith was being held in the Lawrence County Jail for a prior charge.

In 2014, investigators developed information that Smith violated an order of protection and was observed purchasing firearms at a local flea market. Searches at Smith's home and other storage facilities revealed additional weapons and shell casings.
