Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT) -- WHAT TO EXPECT
This morning we're waking up to moderate to heavy rainfall across the area as Tropical Storm Michael moves to our east.
The storm is bringing up to an inch of rain through the day and some gusty winds as well up to 25 mph at times. The Smoky Mountains will have some higher gusts.
A cold front coming from the west will help move Michael on out to sea and with that brings us a more fall like pattern for the weekend. Tonight we'll drop to 45 with mostly clear skies.
As we get into Friday and the start of the weekend we'll see more sunshine and much cooler temperatures. We'll struggle to get out of the 60's Friday through the weekend. Overnight lows in the mid to upper 40's.
Some scattered rain showers will be around on Monday, but the below average temperatures will continue.
