More troopers, officers to patrol Highway 70

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- You may see an increase of law enforcement on Highway 70 this week as Tennessee Highway Patrol beefs up security.

Beginning Tuesday, law enforcement will target the over 500-mile stretch of Highway 70 as part of a statewide effort to monitor distracted driving and speeding.

According to WTVF, troopers will be looking for distracted or aggressive drivers, focusing on high-crash periods. High-crash periods tend to be Tuesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
