KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Muse Knoxville invited aspiring astronauts to join them as they celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 lunar landing July 20th.

Kids weren't even being thought of when history was made, but the Muse Knoxville is making sure they know the science behind landing on the moon.

People from ages 2-64 joined from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The event included space-themed activities, crafts and free screenings of the planetarium show: CAPCOM Go! The Apollo Story. They also got a chance to create their own rocket, moon crater exploration, blast-off with marshmallow poppers and design a lunar rover.

The muse is open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. every weekend and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week.

They're located at 516 N Beaman St. Knoxville, Tennessee 37914.
