NC church daycare worker arrested in child porn production case
A former church daycare employee in North Carolina was arrested Friday morning and charged with several crimes connected to child exploitation and child pornography, CBS
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) said the woman, Alyson Brooke Saunders, was an employee at Fellowship Day School when the acts allegedly happened.
Saunders was charged with: indecent liberties with a minor, first degree sexual exploitation of a minor, sexual offense with a child by an adult and crime against nature.
According to CBS
, the crime against nature charge involved a dog.
An investigation began in February when HSI said their Winston-Salem office received a top from HSI London. According to WFMY, the tip claimed a person arrested on child pornography charges abroad was having contact online with Saunders.
HSI said they interviewed Saunders. They said she gave consent for them to look at her electronic media.
In March, HSI said Saunders admitted to exploiting and producing pornography of minor children. HSI said, in addition to the confession, forensic evidence confirmed that Saunders produced child pornography.
Fellowship Day School released a statement on Friday saying that the allegations involved five children and Saunders.
According to the statement, Saunders was related to the school's Assistant Executive Director. "The Assistant Executive Director is as shocked and heart-broken as everyone else at the School, plus she is dealing with the impact of this on her family."
"We ask for everyone's continued prayers. The Day School is a non-profit operation that exists solely to help children and their families," the statement said.
Saunders is being held on a $1 million bond.
