Drugs, guns confiscated in Clinton hotel drug bust
Clinton Police Department arrested man on drug charges on June 12 after a narcotics operation was found operating inside a Clinton hotel.
According to the Attorney General's Office, authorities received a tip from Oneida Police Department that helped locate Damon West operating out of a hotel in Clinton, Tennessee.
Agents requested assistance from the Clinton Police Department for making contact with West at the hotel.
Upon arrival, West consented to a search that found 6 grams of Methamphetamine, 10 grams of Marijuana, and two firearms with one having its serial number "obliterated".
West then told law enforcement he was in Clinton to sell methamphetamine in an area where law enforcement was unfamiliar with him.
Due to one of the firearms having an obliterated serial number, agents are determining if one or both of the firearms have been stolen or involved in other crimes.
The investigation remains ongoing.
