Nashville man arrested after claiming girlfriend shot herself

A Tennessee man has been arrested in the shooting death of his girlfriend after he claimed she shot herself, CBS affiliate WTVF reported.
Police said they arrived at an apartment on Star Boulevard on April 23 at around 5 p.m. The suspect, 22-year-old Lamontez Sykes, had reportedly called 911 to say that his girlfriend, 20-year-old Taylor Miles, had shot herself in the head.
Metro Nashville Police said that, after an investigation, that wasn't the case.
Sykes is being held in the Metro Jail on a $1 million bond.
