Police capture 2 of 4 escaped teens in Nashville

Metro Nashville police said they arrested two of the four teens who escaped the Juveline Justice Center over the weekend.

Decorrius Wright, 16, and Calvin Howse, 15, were taken into custody Tuesday night by the Juvenile Crime Task Force in Madison, Tenn. Wright is one of the two murder suspects who escaped. Two teens are still on the loose.

The group of four escape in Nashville, resulting in the suspension of four employees at the downtown juvenile center.

Police said the group of teens was on work detail when their supervisor left them alone while he broke up a fight somewhere else in the facility. The four teens managed to get on an elevator and reportedly used staff protocols to ride to the ground floor where they left the building.

"I don't have any indication that a crime has been committed, that there was some overt act to assist in their escape, but certainly a lot of gross negligence," said Chief Steve Anderson with Metro Nashville Police.

Chief Steve Anderson says the escapees were probably the four most dangerous people in the detention center; And he just can't understand why they would possibly be part of a cleanup crew.

Morris Marsh, 17, is a murder suspect and still on the run. Brandon Caruthers, 17, has armed robbery and gun possession charges, according to reports.

Police said nearly 35 minutes went by before anyone at the Juvenile Detention Center called police.
