Newport church hosts "Treat the Street" Halloween event

NEWPORT, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Newport Church of God is hosting its annual fall event, "Treat the Street" to celebrate Halloween in a safe and fun way.

The event is an alternative to trick-or-treating and is located at the Fairgrounds in Newport.

Games, free food, inflatables, fire pits, face painting, hay rides, music drama productions and a costume contest will be held at the event, which is free to everyone.

"Treat the Street" will be held on Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. All are encouraged to come, and the church will be giving out prizes.
