Knoxville police: Woman's infant died of drug overdose

Heather Keylon is facing first degree murder charges for the death of her 3-month-old infant, Skylar Brewer. Keylon is accused of killing Skylar on April 21, 2015.

According to Knoxville police, Keylon called 911 to say her infant had stopped breathing. She told officers her child went to sleep on the sofa and a short time later, she noticed the infant was not breathing.

An autopsy revealed Skylar died due to a drug overdose.

The charges include felony murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated child neglect.

Heather Keylon was arrested in Oak Ridge and booked into the Knox County jail on Saturday, March 12. She has a history of criminal convictions that date back to 2004 including robbery. Keylon has previously admitted to smoking crack cocaine.
