TBI Agents are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting in Claiborne County Sunday afternoon.

TBI said around 2:00 p.m., troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol tried to stop a vehicle that they say was a subject of a 'be on the lookout' advisory in Bean Station, Grainger County.

The female driver, identified as Elizabeth Ann Strop of Sevierville, did not stop, and led law enforcement on a pursuit from Grainger County into Claiborne County and onto Lone Mountain Road.

TBI said the woman stopped the vehicle near Leffew Lane, got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.

TBI said the woman had a gun, and troopers fired at her, hitting the woman. She died at the scene.

No law enforcement officers were injured during the incident.

TBI said this is an active and ongoing investigation.
