Search crews in Johnson County say they have identified the body of a teenage boy who fell into a lake.

Around 9 a.m. on Friday, search crews found the body of Luke Caudill, 15, in Paintsville Lake.

Kentucky State Police say they got a call around 4 a.m. on Friday. Caudill fell into the lake in the Flat Gap community on Route 689. They say Caudill was walking along the edge of the water when he fell into lake.

"We made about four passes and so forth in very deep areas," said Timothy Cooley, the Captain of the Floyd County Rescue Squad. "It was right against the rock cliff and so forth. It took about an hour or so."

State Police don't believe foul play was involved.

The Emergency Management director said drownings in this area of the lake are uncommon.

Caudill played football at Johnson Central High School. He was a freshman.
