One seriously injured in Crossville motorcycle crash

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- One person was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash near Walmart on Main Street in Crossville Wednesday, according to police.

Investigators identified the victim as 44-year-old Michael Paul Howard who was riding a 1996 Harley Davidson.

According to a report, 20-year-old Justin Lawson was driving a purple Ford Fusion. He crossed Main Street from Matherly Drive when he reportedly failed to yield, striking the motorcycle.

Howard was ejected from the motorcycle in the crash.

EMS responders were able to stabilize Howard, then airlifted to Erlanger Hospital where he is being treated for injuries to his leg that are considered life-threatening.

Lawson was cited for failure to yield and use due care after the crash.
