KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) Pat Summitt's legacy lives on through Peyton Manning, slated to receive the Pat Summitt Ignite Greatness Award.
The Greater Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame announced Tuesday, June 11, that the Vol Football legend was set to become the seventh recipient of the award, joining the company of Tamika Catchings, Inky Johnson, Jason Witten, Eric Berry, Eddie Courtney and Gus Manning.
Established in 2012, the award is given to someone who "Ignites Greatness to everyone who has limitless potential that we must discover, ignite and foster."
Manning was scheduled to receive the honor at the 38th annual Greater Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame and Induction Ceremony Thursday, July 25, featuring Duke Football Head Coach and former Tennessee offensive coordinator David Cutcliffe as a guest speaker. Bob Kesling was slated to be Master of ceremonies.
Tickets were limited and priced at $150.
