KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The inaugural Pierce Corcoran Memorial Golf Tournament was held Monday at The Club at Gettysvue.

$20,000 raised in the Pierce Corcoran Memorial Golf Tournament for the Emerald Youth Foundation.

Pierce was killed in a wreck on Chapman Highway in December.

He was an avid golfer and his parents found the tournament to be a fitting tribute.

Corcoran played high school golf at Grace Christian and at the Emerald Youth Foundation prior to that.

Pierce's parents were overwhelmed by the community support on Monday.

"I think a lot of that has to do with Emerald Youth Foundation. It's a solid and good foundation. I think when people knew the proceeds are going to Emerald, they stepped right up," said DJ Corcoran, Pierce's father.
