Officers with the Paintsville Police Department say a man threatened staff at a Suboxone clinic in Paintsville on Thursday.

Police arrested George Tackett. When they arrived, Tackett appeared to be under the influence and was hiding something in his pocket. When searching Tackett, the officer was stuck by a used syringe.

While being taken to the hospital, Tackett beat the window of the cruiser with his arms and head. An officer used pepper spray on him.

Police charged Tackett with assault of a police officer because he knowingly allowed the officer to search him with a syringe in his pocket.

Police also charged Tackett with terroristic threatening, possession of drug paraphernalia, and wanton endangerment.
