Police identify East Knoxville shooting victim

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Police responded to reports of gunfire in East Knoxville Saturday, according to Knox County dispatch.

Officials said the shots were reported in the 3300 block of Selma Avenue just after 9 p.m. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Emory Johnson suffering from a gunshot wound.

Johnson was transported to UT Medical Center for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
