COCKE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Haywood County officials said I-40 is back open as of Tuesday morning.

A rockslide closed the westbound lanes of the road on Interstate 40 near the Tennessee/North Carolina state line on Monday.

According to the Cocke County Emergency Management Agency, the slide occurred exactly at mile marker 7.5 between two tunnels.

The slide left traffic at a standstill Tuesday night.

Cocke County EMA said, "There is nothing to see but traffic."

NCDOT said this a small slide and scalers dislodged three boulders that were hanging.
