SC minister arrested at church over sex allegations involving teen

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC (WVLT) -- A South Carolina minister is accused of having sex with and impregnating a teenage girl.

According to a sheriff's office news release, Phillip Jerard Buckson, of Boiling Springs, was charged with four counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

On Jan. 30, investigators received two tips about the situation and interviewed with the victim.

The victim told investigators that she and Buckson had sex multiple times at his home starting in Oct. 2015 in Cherokee County. According to
WSPA, the victim was 13-years-old at the time.

She alleged that the encounters in Spartanburg County began when she was 14 and that she became pregnant on two occasions and had two abortions to terminate the pregnancies.

Buckson was arrested at his church and taken to the sheriff's office where, WSPA reports, he admitted to the allegations.
