Sheriff: Monroe Co. jail overcrowded, no visitations over weekend

MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- On Thursday night, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office announced that the jail would not be having visitations over the weekend.

The sheriff said the move was due to overcrowding at the jail.

"I apologize for the inconvenience," the post said.

Typically, visitations are allowed at the jail Friday through Sunday.
