CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Snoring isn’t just annoying, it can also be hazardous to your health. About 40 percent of adult men and 24 percent of adult women are habitual snorers, according to SleepEducation.org.

“Several studies have shown that snoring, even in the absence of obstructive sleep apnea, is associated with vascular abnormalities,” said Dr. Reena Mehra, Director of Sleep Disorders Research at The Cleveland Clinic.

“Although the data are not entirely consistent, there are studies that support an association of snoring and hypertension,” she added.

Snoring is causing a problem for Andy Ng’s health and his relationship.

“I know that it’s something that i do need to find a solution for... especially since I do have high blood pressure and my doctor actually said that part of the reason is snoring,” said Andy.

He and his wife have to sleep in separate rooms just to get any rest. He’s tried pillows and throat exercises, but nothing has worked.

“I also don’t want anything that’s intrusive like you have to stick into your mouth or nose or lie strap onto your face,” said Andy.

We came across something that might just be what the Ng’s have been looking for, the Smart Nora. The smart pillow insert promises to silence snoring and still let you use your favorite pillow. But does it work?
