Sources close to the situation told Local 8 News that work has been scheduled for Monday to start the process of removing the picture of ex-UT Football Coach Butch Jones from the jumbotron that hangs over Neyland Stadium.

Weather conditions could determine how long it will be before fans see the jumbotron Butch Jones-free.

Many members of Vol Nation have expressed hard feelings about the picture representing a place held so close to their hearts.

Chancellor Beverly Davenport responded to a tweet asking to "Get Lyle off the jumbo tron" on January 2. "Please hang on. A crane has been ordered," Davenport tweeted.

Jones was removed from his post as UT's head coach in November 2017 after a 4-8 season with zero wins in the SEC. Volquest reported that Jones is currently in talks with Alabama's Nick Saban about an analyst position.

Athletic Director Phillip Fulmer replaced Jones with Jeremy Pruitt as head coach in December 2017.
