Walmart greeter with special needs could soon be out of a job

(WVLT) -- Jay Melton has Cerebral Palsy. He can't walk on his own, but for the past 17 years, he's been a greeter at a North Carolina Walmart store in his home town.

The store where he's worked and thousands of others are eliminating the greeter position and replacing it with one titled "Customer Host". The new role comes with better pay and more responsibility, including physical demands. Melton likely can't meet the new demands with his disability.

Melton's father and thousands of others are now mounting a social media campaign to try and save the disabled man's job, believing Walmart should make an exception and continue to employ Melton.
