State fines Maryville nursing home, suspends admittance

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Tennessee Department of Health has fined Asbury Place at Maryville $45,000 and ordered them not to admit any new residents.

According to a release from the department, the fine and order was based on conditions discovered during a complaint survey conducted August 13 through August 20.

Investigators found administration and basic service violations.

The order to suspend admissions remains in effect until conditions are and continue to be corrected.

The department said a special monitor has been appointed to review the facility's operations.
