Study: Tennessee among top 10 states millennials are making a home

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Millennials are quickly easing their way into adulthood. That means finding a place to live. Many factors go into this decision like cost of living, quality of live and the job market.

SmartAsset.com, has recently compiled a list of top 10 cities across the country where the generation is moving. Clarksville, Tennessee takes the ninth spot on the list.

The site attributes the net increase in millennial population was 3,330. Of the total 9,740 millennials who moved into Clarksville in 2017, a majority of them came from outside of Tennessee.

SmartAsset compared 2017 Census Bureau migration data for 173 cities and all 50 states, as well as Washington, D.C.

It also compared the number of people between the ages of 20 and 34 who emigrated out of each city and state to the number who immigrated into the city and state.
