TBI: 14-year-old boy arrested for shooting, killing man

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced that a 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in the shooting death of a 47-year-old man.

On Thursday night, officials responded to a 911 call at a home on Crossville Highway in Sparta. Upon arrival, deputies with the White County Sheriff's Department found a 47-year-old man dead with a gunshot wound.

Further investigating revealed that the 14-year-old juvenile who lived in the home was responsible.

The 14-year-old was arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter via a juvenile petition. At time time, he is being held in juvenile detention.

TBI has not revealed the juvenile's identity due to his age. A hearing is scheduled to go before a Juvenile Court on Monday.
