JEFFERSON CO., Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Jefferson County couple was indicted after being charged with falsely reporting an incident of domestic assault.

Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call made by 23-year-old Haelee C. Blevins on March 23 in regards to her telling dispatchers she and her husband, 38-year-old Robert Kyle Blevins III had an argument that turned physical.

When police arrived to the home of the couple, deputies reported that Haelee and Robert gave a different story, stating that an unidentified man jumped out of an SUV and began hitting Robert, injuring his face, on their way home.

After further investigation, agents discovered the incident involving the couple did not occur the way it was told, and the two provided the fabricated version to cover up the domestic assault.

Haelee Blevins is charged with one count of False Reports and one count of Domestic Assault, and Robert Blevins is charged with one count of False Reports.

On Monday, the couple turned themselves in and were booked into the Jefferson County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
