The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has identified the suspect in an officer-involved shooting in Oak Ridge.
TBI said Isaiah D. Ramirez, 36, died on Monday evening.
Investigators said an Oak Ridge Police Department officer tried to stop Ramirez who refused to pull over and gave chase. That chase reportedly ended at the Anderson County General Sessions Court parking lot along Emory Valley Road.
According to the TBI, the officer got out of his car and was hit by Ramirez. An officer on scene then apparently fired a gun and hit Ramirez. He was taken to a nearby hospital and died.
The officer hit by the car is expected to recover.
