ROCKWOOD, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced that a Rockwood woman allegedly accused a Rockwood police officer of sexual assault.
According to TBI, Christy Hunter was indicted on charges of filing a false report and retaliation for past action in Roane County.
An investigation was launched on Jan. 6 at the request of the DA after Hunter filed a report, claiming she had been sexually assaulted by an officer during her arrest on suspicion of shoplifting.
TBI said that the investigation showed her allegations "had no merit."
On Monday, a grand jury indicted Hunter. She was arrested and booked into the Roane County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
