NEWPORT, Tenn (WVLT) -- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Newport Monday morning.

TBI said the Newport Police Department and Cocke County Sheriff's Office traveled to the 2000 block of Highway 160 to serve William David Williamson, 61, with a warrant, charging him with 14 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

When officers and deputies entered Williiamson's home around 5 a.m. Monday morning, law enforcement officials said they saw a weapon. That's when a deputy with CCSO and an officer with NPD fired, hitting and killing Williamson.

"This was considered a high-risk warrant," Cocke County Sheriff Armando Fontes said.
