The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reported that the body of a 40-year-old Louisville man was recovered from the Ft. Loudoun Lake on Thursday evening.

On Friday morning, TWRA announced that the victim was 40-year-old Jonathan Beeler.

According to TWRA, a fisherman discovered an unoccupied boat floating on the water near Carl Cowan Park off Northshore Drive on Thursday afternoon; it contained food, fishing gear and still had keys in the ignition.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office, the Blount County Sheriff's Office and TWRA responded to the scene.

Beeler's body was recovered by a TWRA accident investigator through the use of an underwater Remote Operated Vehicle at around 6:48 p.m. and was recovered within an hour, TWRA says.

Officials report that he was not wearing a flotation device.

Early information indicates that the man drowned.

The incident remains under investigation.
