KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knox County Sheriff's Office reports a man was arrested and accused of busting the windows out of his girlfriend's car during a physical altercation on Monday.

Gene Chandler, 27, was arrested and faces felony charges of vandalism and domestic assault.

According to the report, an argument led Chandler to head-butt the victim and punch her several times. The victim suffered swelling and a busted lip.

The report said that following the alleged assault, Chandler busted at least two windows out of the victim's vehicle and threatened to burn down her house with her children in it.

Before fleeing the scene police said Chandler backed his truck into his girlfriend's car.

Police said Chandler was previously arrested in 2018 for charges of driving with a revoked license, driving with non-functioning license plate light, failure to satisfy court costs and fines.
