Tenn. man charged with kidnapping, sexual contact with minor

BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT/WJHL) -- The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office arrested a man in connection to a runaway juvenile on Wednesday.

Michael Rhodes, 26, was arrested and faces charges of aggravated kidnapping, two counts of aggravated assault, felony reckless endangerment, reckless endangerment, sexual contact with a minor, harboring a runaway, evading arrest, driving on a revoked license and various other traffic charges.

CBS affiliate WJHL reported that Rhodes was with a juvenile reported missing by her family on Wednesday morning.

That same day, a deputy spotted Rhodes in a vehicle near DeVault Bridge Road and attempted a traffic stop. Investigators said Rhodes did not stop and took off with law enforcement in pursuit.

During the chase, investigators said Rhodes hit another vehicle. The chase came to an end on SR 75 in Blountville.

The juvenile wasn't harmed, and she was taken back to her parents.
