KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The cash is flowing in Vol shops. Usually they see a decline after the fall, but with Tennessee's success this year in basketball, the money keeps coming in.
One student said she goes to most home games.
"You could never have enough orange," said Shayla Wolfe, who is a UT student.
Shayla Wolfe walks through the VolShop to look for her Vol gear. She said she needs it to cheer on Tennessee's basketball team.
"It's so great to see all of our fellow students come together," said Wolfe. "The team really thrives off of it and it's really amazing to support a team that is doing so well."
She's not the only one buying the latest Tennessee merchandise. VolShop Assistant Manager David Smith said basketball gear is flying off the shelves.
"We get a new item in and in a couple weeks, it's gone and out the door," said David Smith, who is an assistant manager of the VolShop
Smith said it's been a few years since he's seen that happen.
"Football is our bread and butter, but basketball has definitely helped us out with sales," said Smith.
He said all the money they make goes back to the school. For students like Wolfe, they're just ready to sport their new shirt in Thompson-Boling Arena.
"It's pretty amazing," said Wolfe. "It's made the atmosphere pretty wild. Everyone is excited."
The VolShop said the most common items to buy are the jerseys. They said they are out of them as of Saturday.
